Hubli, Hubli & Hubli!

Place: Hubli
Company: Wife and daughter

1) Occasion: Dasara Holidays 2018

Time: Oct 13th - Oct 20th, 2018

Highlights

13th: Left BLR on 13th via train to Hubli. I wasn't feeling too well, feverish.

14th: Reached Hubli. Fever increased. Took rest most of the day. But birthday celebrations were arranged for Paavani (as per Kannada calendar). House was all decorated with balloons! Cake was brought and cut. I could hardly pose for the snaps. Tontu was all too happy though - being pampered by one and all! Additionally, there was a pet dog in the house, so Tontu had a nice time talking to it!

15th: Felt much better. But continued recuperating. Did not go out anywhere.

16th: Back to normal. With no medication! Typical routine: Get up by 7-8. Yoga and Kriyas. Bath, breakfast, some trading. Lunch. Siesta. Evening walk to a nearby park. Catching up with whatsapp videos! Dinner, after dinner walk with the dog & sleep!

17th: In the evening ventured out to a fair. Nice set of rides and eateries plus some man-made artwork & cut-outs. Some change in regular routine. Paavani enjoyed a lot. Had dinner at a nearby restaurant.

18th: NSE holiday, so no trading. In the evening, went to Mutt.

19th: Packing and it was time to leave! Left Hubli at 5:30 pm train and reached BLR on...

20th: ...at 5 am. Took the metro from Yeswantpur to home.

Overview: It was a week-longish Dasara vacation but it didn't seem so. Mainly because first couple of days I wasn't feeling too well. And then there was the pet dog which was occupying our attention to some extent. A much needed break from the regular routines of Bangalore life!

2) Occasion: Wife's cousin's engagement

Time: Dec 8th - Dec 10th, 2018

Highlights: This was not a planned trip, so there was no reservations. Until the last minute, we were not sure whether we would be going for the engagement or the wedding! Finally decided engagement it is! So, had to do premium tatkal booking for onward and bus return for return. Quite pricey!

Not much to say about this trip. Left on 8th via Rani Chennamma train. Reached early in the morning about 5:30 am. Rushed for the engagement ceremony which was thankfully held very close to the house (walkable). It was hot, even in Dec! Pleasantries exchanged with one and all. Lunch. Nap. Yapping. Dinner. Time to leave. Overnight bus journey after a really long time. Paavani enjoyed bus journey too although not so comfortable. Reached BLR at about 6 am. Rushed home just in time for school!

3) Occasion: Niece naming ceremony

Time: March 15th - 17th, 2019

Highlights: It was the first time we were seeing the new-born. So there was much excitement. Left from Yeswantpur on the 8:45 pm train. Reached at about 5:45 am. The preparations for the naming ceremony was already underway. At least the cooking part! We got ready and guests started pouring in. The baby was peaceful, thankfully, and underwent all the religious procedures. Finally, it was done. Lunch. Nap. Yapping. Evening walk. Dinner. Sleep. Once again, next day, packing and it was time to leave. Had booked Janshatabdi this time to avoid the morning arrival rush. So, reached Yeswantpur at about 9 pm. Usual metro to back home.
