Highlights:
Dec 21st was supposed to be the D-Day: wife's niece 1st year birthday. So, about 3 months back, we booked train tickets. But due to last minute plan changes, the celebration got postponed by a week. So had to cancel and re-book the tickets. Got tickets for 25th-Christmas day-train from Yeswantpur at 2 pm. Reached Hubli at 10 pm. Return dates were not finalized as I had plans to visit Udupi. So, for me it was UD-BLR whereas it was HUB-BLR for wifey & daughter.
Dec 26th and 27th I worked remotely from Hubli. Some minor religious function on 26th, hence a feast. In the evening went to park and Raghavendra Swamy Mutt. Nothing much on 27th. Lazed at home pretty much.
Dec 28th was the celebration day. Prep in the morning and party at night. Lots of neighbours, kids, relatives attended and it was quite grand.
Dec 29th was take-it-easy. Had a long 3 hour nap. Spent nice time with kiddo. Again, park at night, and some nice chat on the way back. Also, booked tatkal ticket for return journey. My Udupi trip was cancelled, so finalized on all three of us heading back morrow.
Dec 30th was get-ready-to-depart day! Although I was officially on leave, still worked on and off. Packed. Played more with kiddo. Finally it was time to leave. Left at 9:30 pm. Train was almost on time - reached Hubli around 11-ish. As soon as we boarded, headed to sleep.
Dec 31st reached BLR. Got down at YPR and home by about 9.
A simple & short trip - solely for the niece!
